Tehran – The familiar tour of Ardabil Province (FAM tour) was held in Aldabil on Friday for a group of Turkish tourism experts, including tour operators and travel agency managers, with the aim of introducing the local tourist potential.
In addition to the Turkish delegation, representatives from local media in Aldabil also took part in the tour to provide and highlight the state’s attractions, CHTN reported on Saturday.
As part of the program, participants visited various tourist destinations in the Northwest Province, including historic landmarks such as the Shahr-e Yeri archaeological site, as well as natural attractions and tourist facilities such as suspension bridges and accommodation.
The tour was held to present the latest initiatives adopted to introduce Aldaville’s diverse tourism products and develop the state’s tourism industry, the report added.
Officials emphasized that strengthening relationships with Turkish tour operators and introducing Aldabil’s cultural, historical and natural assets is an important step to attract more international visitors and boosting local tourism.
The event also serves as a platform for media coverage and aims to raise public awareness both within the country and in neighbouring countries about Ardivil’s tourism capabilities.
Located on a high windswept plateau, Aldabil is renowned for its rich natural beauty, kind people and its tradition of silk and carpet trade. It is also home to the UNESCO registered Sheikh Safi Al Din Hanega and the shrine ensemble. It freezes in winter and mild in summer, attracting thousands of people each year.
