Palestinian medical sources confirmed Tuesday that youssef al-Safadi, north of Gaza and Abdul Hamid al-Garban, have cited serious malnutrition caused by Israel’s ongoing siege in Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza.
Gaza has endured nearly two years of brutal Israeli war, characterized by a deliberate hunger tactic that rights groups aim to maximize Palestinian casualties.
“These children died where food was turned into weapons,” said a pro-Palestinian activist who responded to death.
In May, the Israeli regime tightened the already devastating 18-year lockdown, further restricting food and aid invasions.
Already crippled by ruthless artillery fire, hospitals in Gaza are now overwhelmed by the hunger incident, local doctors say.
They report daily enrollment of children, parents, and elderly patients, where many are semi-conscious or unable to speak.
Doctors explain the horrifying symptoms of extreme hunger, explaining that some patients fall in the middle or don’t remember their names.
Unrwa, a UN agency of Palestinian refugees, says more than 17,000 children in Gaza suffer from acute malnutrition.
The number of less than five malnourished children between March and June has doubled, the agency reported.
