Medi Parsi, Director of Roads and Urban Development, Sistan and Balchestan, has announced that the 30-kilometer highway on the Zahedan Biryand route will be operational by the end of the Iranian calendar year as part of the government’s transport development plan across the country’s eastern strip.
“The project not only helps reduce accidents and increase travel safety, but also helps to play an important role in promoting trade and improving the quality of life in the state,” Parsi emphasizes that timely funding for the project can bring streams in shorter time frames.
The total length of the Zahedanbil Jand route is 211 km, of which 150 km has been converted to highways and is currently in operation. The Highway project is currently under construction with over 40% physical advances and requires allocation of funds needed to facilitate completion.
Mansour Bijar, governor of Sistan and Baluchestan, also visited the Zahedan-Birjand project to review the status of the executive business.
Emphasizing the importance of the expressway as one of the country’s important transport arteries, Bijar said, “Completing the project as the state’s top priority will help solidify the position of Sistan and Balkestan as an important link in Iran’s eastern transport corridor.”
Another well-known infrastructure project is the Chabahar-Sarakhs Railway, which has been branded as a catalyst for economic and transport conversions in eastern Iran.
The railway project linking Chabahar port with Sarahus can promote trade exchanges between central Asia and Afghanistan and contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
The governor of South Holasan Province, Mohammad Reza Hashemi, described the project as an important artery that strengthens the country’s transportation infrastructure and supports access to international corridors.
Transport and transportation expert Mehdi Baqeri stressed that the completion of the railway could bring about major changes in the economics of the Macran coast and the transport of goods in the country’s southeastern parts of the country.
Baqeri added that admission from the non-government sector to investments in the Chabahar-Sarakhs Railway Project will help to increase the safety and prosperity of the region.
Given the strategic geographical location of the project, the Zahedanbil Jand Highway and the Chabahar Sarahus Railway will serve as the main transport and trade axes in eastern Iran.
