Ukraine reportedly agreed to a revised peace deal during talks between U.S. officials and a Ukrainian delegation in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. A Russian delegation was also in the UAE capital, although it is unclear whether joint talks were held, CNBC reported.
Reports of the deal emerged when an unnamed US official told ABC News that “the Ukrainians have agreed to a peace agreement” although “fine details” still need to be worked out.
“There are some details to sort out, but the two countries have agreed to a peace deal,” a U.S. official told news outlets.
A Ukrainian official told Reuters that Ukraine supports the “essence” of the framework of the peace agreement, following talks in Geneva over the weekend.
The official, who was not named, added that the “most sensitive issues” of the framework would be discussed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and US President Donald Trump.
