Jakarta – A simple question that will shake up your conscience. Decades of UN resolutions have been issued and dozens of negotiations have been held, but the results are always stuck. Palestine is under occupation and its people’s rights are still violated. The world seems busy, but it’s paralyzed by its actions.
This failure results in the need for a new path.
There is no equal strength
For decades, the dream of an independent Palestinian state has been crushed by conflict, broken promises and global indifference.
Until now, Muslims have relied solely on forums such as the OIC (organization of Islamic cooperation). Their voices are loud, but their actions are minimal. Post-conflict conflict in the Middle East shows that international security systems cannot support justice. The United Nations is frequently criticized by many European and even Latin American countries for its failure to protect Palestinians.
At the UN General Assembly in September 2025, countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey and South Africa expressed strong support for Palestine’s independence, and Qatar and Jordan criticized the UN for its inability to act decisively.
The support of the 142 Palestinian United Nations has shown unprecedented global solidarity. Official recognition of Palestine by France, Belgium, Canada, Australia and the UK at the 80th UN General Assembly was a strong signal of geopolitical change.
However, diplomatic support alone is not enough. Palestine needs real protection. Escalating conflicts and the failure of international organizations in the Middle East show one thing. Muslim countries must create their own power.
Born from a crisis
This injustice has sparked a recognition of a new path, and Muslim countries can no longer wait for external mercy. The idea once considered utopian is now an urgent need.
The Suez Canal, the Strait of Boshors, the Strait of Hormuz, and even the Strait of Malacca are important trade routes within Islamic State control. Without these routes the global economy is completely paralyzed. Muslim countries must be bold enough to learn from the reimagined European Union and modern alliances inspired by the NATO. This vision will not only liberate Palestine, but will also change the global order for the better. Umma Union offers a new paradigm. It is not just a military agreement, it is a multidimensional alliance that combines defence, economic, technological and humanitarian forces. Imagine the synergy of Saudi Arabia’s financial power, Turkish military technology, Pakistan’s nuclear power, and the massive personnel management of Indonesia, Iran and Egypt.
Numerically, the Umma Union surpassed NATO’s total strength, gaining over 6 million active forces. However, its real advantage lies in its control of strategic global trade routes. The Suez Canal, the Strait of Boshors, the Strait of Hormuz, and even the Strait of Malacca are important trade routes within Islamic State control. Without these routes the global economy is completely paralyzed. With managing 65% of the world’s oil reserves and 45% of natural gas reserves, the Umma Union will have extraordinary economic negotiating power.
Solidarity from the sea
We recently witnessed the global SUMUD FLOTILLA, the largest international humanitarian civil fleet, trying to break Israeli blockade to bring aid to Gaza.
Global Sumud Flotilla shows that collective action at the private sector can create unexpected geopolitical ripples. The fleet, consisting of 50-70 ships, carries delegations from 44 countries on six continents.
Dozens of ships carrying activists, doctors, humanitarian volunteers and medical aid departed from Spanish ports on August 31st. They will join Tunisia’s second fleet on September 4th and sail together to Gaza, a distance of about 3,000 km.
The global Sumud Flotilla is sailing for about four weeks. As of September 28, 2025, Gaza media reported that the fleet is still around 460 nautical miles from Gaza. Some ships encountered technical difficulties and bad weather. The fleet continued its mission despite the obstacles.
The fleet was more than just a humanitarian mission. It was a demonstration of strength and deep resolve, and a statement that solidarity does not know the boundaries. Most surprising, the Italian dockworker issued a harsh warning. If the fleet is attacked, they will paralyze all European ports.
Why is the world necessary for the Umma Union?
In European countries, stability of energy supply is achieved. The Umma Union becomes a more predictable energy partner than relying on one or two major producer countries. This diversification of energy sources reduces the risk of price volatility and provides supply disruptions.
New, profitable markets will be created for the world. With a population of over 1.8 billion and an integrated economy, the Umma Union will become the largest single market for European products. Regulatory standardization and common currency will encourage access to European companies. Wealthy countries within the Umma Union, such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, could become major investors in European infrastructure and green technology projects, accelerating the energy transition and digitalization.
Currently, BRICS, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates, need strategic partners to offset Western domination. Umma Union will become the third pole, enhancing global multipolarity. Several potential members of the Umma Union, such as Iran and the UAE, have been members of BRICS since 2024, but Indonesia joined in January 2025.
The European-Brick-Umma Union relationship can form a triangle of mutually beneficial cooperation. Europe offers technology and markets, BRICS offers manufacturing and innovation, and Umma Union supplies energy and stability.
The idea of establishing the Umma Union is a manifestation of justice in the form of world peace, in order to create a more balanced, stable and beneficial world order for all parties.
A multipole world with multiple power poles is resilient due to a global crisis. This is because trade stability, affordable energy and regional security can be achieved together for the benefit of humanity.
