The United Nations General Assembly adopted five resolutions related to Palestine with a majority vote.
According to the Palestine Information Center, the resolution on support for Palestinian refugees was passed with the support of 151 countries, but 10 countries opposed it and 14 countries abstained.
A second resolution addressing the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and extending its mandate for an additional three years received 145 votes in favor, 10 against, and 18 abstentions.
A third resolution, dealing with the property of Palestinian refugees and the income derived from it, was passed with the support of 157 countries. Ten countries voted against it, and nine abstained.
The fourth resolution focused on a special commission to investigate Israeli practices that affect the human rights of Palestinians and other Arabs living under occupation, with 88 countries approving, 19 opposing, and 64 abstaining.
The fifth resolution, which condemns Israel’s settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories, including al-Quds and the occupied Syrian Golan, was adopted with 146 votes in favor, 13 against, and 17 abstentions.
Riyad Mansour, Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations, expressed his gratitude for the broad support of Member States and noted the growing global solidarity with the Palestinian people, particularly on issues affecting refugees.
He said this support is especially important now as Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank face what he called a brutal Israeli invasion.
