The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Iraq welcomed recent announcements by several countries regarding the recognition of the Palestinian state on Thursday, describing it as a “important” and “historical step” to achieving justice for Palestinians.
In a statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said international recognition in Palestine will strengthen the outlook for perpetuating peace and contribute to long-term regional stability.
Sheikh Abdullah emphasized that supporting the Palestinian cause is the moral and humanitarian responsibility of the international community and calls for more similar actions to advance the peace process.
A statement from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said that the growing international awareness of Palestine represents support for a process aimed at achieving justice for the Palestinian people and paving the way for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
