The Martyr baqeri drone carrier joined the IRGC Navy fleet on February 6th. The warship is designed as a mobile maritime platform for drones and helicopter missions overseas.
The drone carrier is equipped with two models, a pilotless version of the Iranian homemade stealth fighter jet “Qaher.”
The new unmanned warplane, named “Jas 313,” has a jet engine.
Two versions of the JAS 313, which have different sizes, took off from the drone carrier on February 6th.
IRGC Navy Commander Admiral Alireza Tangsiri spoke to Tasnim and said the larger version of the Jas 313 is equipped with a jet engine that allows aircraft to perform missions at high speeds.
According to the commander, the unmanned warplane has an hour of flight durability.
He said the two models of the JAS 313 are designed to carry out IRGC Navy reconnaissance and bombing operations.
The Qaher-313 Iranian fighter jet was announced in February 2013. Single seat stealth fighters can take off and land on short runways.
Iranian military experts and engineers have made great strides in recent years in manufacturing a wide range of indigenous equipment, making the troops self-sufficient in their arms sphere.
