Iraqi security sources have confirmed the sudden activation of air defense systems at US military bases in Iraq.
According to Mehr News Agency, Al-Maalomah, a security source in the Al-Anbar state, said the US military suddenly revitalized the air defense system at Ain Al-Asad base in the western part of the state.
Sources added that the move by the US military was born out of fear of potential missile attacks.
He noted that the US military has increased the number of watchers around Ain Al-Asad base and is limiting military movements within the facility.
Sources also revealed that a considerable number of American aircraft have recently arrived from Syria in Iraq. According to reports, Patriot Missile Systems and other advanced defense platforms have been deployed at Ain Al-Asad base.
