In a statement released on the anniversary of the occupation of the US embassy in Tehran, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards emphasized that the occupation of the US embassy is a symbol of the noble Islamic nation of Iran’s choice between resistance and surrender.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards congratulated the Iranian people on the 13th anniversary of Abban, seeing it as a reminder of three historic and fateful events: the ouster of the late Imam Khomeini (RA) in 1964, the student massacre in 1978, and the occupation of the American embassy (a den of spies) in 1979.
These events are a lasting manifestation of America’s domineering and criminal nature towards the Iranian people and demonstrate that the loyal and revolutionary Iranian people will never succumb to deceit and global arrogance, the statement added.
The experience of the past four decades and the continuation of Washington’s hostile policies toward the Iranian state have proven that America’s hostility is deeply rooted in conflicting structural interests rather than political misunderstandings. From the 1953 coup to today’s proxy wars, the pattern of pressure, threat, and influence has continued as the hegemonic regime’s enduring strategy against the Islamic Republic.
Elsewhere in the statement, the Revolutionary Guards pointed to the continuation of US interventionist behavior in regional development, including the country’s hostile policy alignment in the 12-day forced war against Iran, adding that current US actions are a repeat of the same historical pattern of domination and intervention. Younger generations must know that the confrontation with global arrogance is not a political slogan, but is deeply rooted in historical reality, the statement continued.
Abban’s 13th anniversary (November 4th) is celebrated in Iran as “National Day to Fight Global Arrogance.” On this day, Iranian students hold a nationwide rally to reaffirm their commitment to the 1979 Islamic Revolution and the fight against Western hegemony represented by the United States and its allies.
