Defense Secretary Pete Hegses on Friday is the latest move by the Trump administration to purge Pentagon officials, including two other senior military commanders, according to U.S. officials who spoke to Reuters and Asporin Press (AP) news outlets.
It was not immediately clear that the grounds were fired during Jeffrey Cruze, who led the Defense Intelligence Reporting Agency (DIA) in early 2024.
But President Trump had previously condemned the agency’s initial findings regarding the US strike against Iran.
The first DIA assessment, widely reported by the US media, contradicts Trump’s claim that the strike completely destroyed nuclear sites and caused rage among both the president and officials within his administration.
