TEHRAN – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said Sunday that the United States must endure the legal and political consequences of its June act of aggression against the Islamic Republic.
Speaking in a public session of Congress, three days after US President Donald Trump acknowledged Israeli-Americans were “hugely responsible” for the June attack on Iran, Qalibaf denounced the attack as a grave violation of international law, the United Nations Charter and Iran’s national sovereignty.
“Following the United States President’s clear admission of direct responsibility for the Zionist regime’s invasion of Iran, I strongly condemn this heinous act on behalf of the noble Iranian people,” he said.
“Under international law, the U.S. government must accept the legal, political, and military consequences of this blatant act of aggression that resulted in the martyrdom of so many of our people,” he added.
