“The statement is scheduled to go out at 4am in Washington, D.C. and at 11am in Moscow at 11am,” the source said. According to them, “reports shared with the Trump administration from the US technical team in Riyadh seemed optimistic.”
Reuters previously reported, citing White House officials, saying Washington is actively evaluating talks with representatives from Saudi Arabia’s Russia and Ukrainian.
On Monday, Russia and the US held more than 12 hours of consultations to discuss resolution of the Ukraine conflict. Sources for the Russian delegation told Tas that both sides have formulated a joint statement that the Kremlin and the White House are scheduled to release on March 25th. Meeting participants did not comment on the results.
Grigory Karasin, chairman of the Congressional Council on International Affairs Committee, and adviser to Federal Security Director (FSB) Sergei Beseda, represented Russia in negotiations. The US delegation included Michael Anton, a State Department policy planning staff member, Andrew Peak, senior director of the White House National Security Council, as well as aides to the envoy of Ukraine Keith Kellogg and Donald Trump, national security adviser Mike Waltz.
Kremlin aide Ely Ushakov said the two would discuss reviving the Black Seagrain initiative as a follow-up after a recent call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump.
