Turkish Tom Barracks’ US ambassador announced on Friday that he has taken on the role of envoy to Syria as Donald Trump’s administration continues to lift sanctions in Damascus, Anadoru Agnesy reported.
Syrian television said in a report on Saturday that the newly appointed US envoy will travel to Syria to travel to Syria, Syrian television said.
Last week, Trump announced at the Saudi Arabian Investment Forum that he would lift “brutally and crippling” sanctions in Syria at the request of Turkish President Recep Erdogan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman. A day later, Trump held historic conference, Ahmed al-Sharaa, in Riyadh.
