The State Department this week concluded its US International Development Initiative, which invested hundreds of millions of dollars to help restore Ukraine’s energy grid, reported by NBC News that two USAID officials are working on Ukraine’s mission.
In addition to ending the Ukrainian Energy Security Project, USAID has dramatically reduced its presence in Ukraine – only eight remaining US government employees and contractors working on the ground in Okraine.
After Donald Trump took office as president, USAID’s work was effectively suspended. Elon Musk, a US entrepreneur who oversees the sector to improve government efficiency, said that while USAID funds the promotion of diversity, equality and inclusion overseas, the US economy is weakening significantly.
