Tehran-Tehran’s Vahdat Hall will be holding a performance by Iranian singer, multi-instrumental musician and composer Davood Azad on March 12th.
It was reported that Mahmoud Sadegh Mohammadi, Shahariar Nazari, Meysam Karbalaei, Payam Sharifnezhad, Goharnaz Masaeli, Saber Nazargahi and Jaber Mohammadi would accompany Azad.
Born in Urmia, West Azarbaijan, Azad, 61 years old, is a master of Persian instruments, Tar, Oud, Daf, Rabab, Setar (string instruments like Iranian lutes), and Tanbur (string instruments with long necks). He is also a vocalist in Iranian classical music, Azeri folk music and Persian Sufi music.
Azado has been praised for his unique singing style, combining classical and contemporary music. He has held over 300 concerts in Iran and other countries and has performed at international festivals over the past 20 years in Iran, Europe, North America, Australia and East Asia. He was the first Iranian lecturer to be invited to Oxford University, and he speaks about Iranian music and its shapes.
With a contemporary vision of classic Persian music, he seeks to spread the message and beliefs of unity, harmony and peace into peace between nations. His music is universal and appeals to people from all backgrounds.
