The ceremony included the presence of the finest officials, including the Attorney General Hojatores Gramasthein Moseni Ejay, as well as many other senior judicial and government figures, as well as members of the Naiyari family.
Nayyeri served many well-known judicial posts throughout the course of his career, including serving as Article 49 of the Constitution, president of the Supreme Disciplinary Court for Judges, and most recently as head of the Special Court, liable as Senior Adviser to the Attorney.
His death was recently undermined by a cycle of unfounded claims on social media claiming that Naiyari was injured during the January 18th terrorist attacks at the Supreme Court. However, these rumors were quickly and decisively rejected by the official judicial media centre, and on January 18th, a statement confirming that Naiyari was not present at the scene of the attack and had not been hurt in any way.
Ayatollah, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, in response to the death of Hojatreslam Naiyari, he saied Ali Khamenei and issued a message of sadness dol.
The leader offered sympathy to Naiyari’s family, friends and colleagues and recognized his great contributions to justice since the early days of the revolution. Naieli was also recognized as a brother of two respected martyrs. Ayatollah Khamenei prayed to the late judge for God’s mercy.
Hossein-Ali Nayyeri was born in 1956 in one of the cities of Gilan Province, northern Iran. He began his religious education at a young age at QOM Seminary. There he studied under several prominent clergymen, especially Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammadi Jirani. After the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Naiyari joined the judicial class and came out of Hakkani Seminary. This is the institution that produced many of the judicial and political elites of the Islamic Republic.
His formal entry into the judicial system came in 1980 when he was nominated by Ayatollah Mohammad Beashti, then head of the Supreme Judicial Council. Nayyeri was appointed Judge Sharia of Evin Prison, a facility designated primarily for political detainees.
Since the 1980s, Naieli has remained a permanent presence in Iran’s legal system. His leadership in the Special Court in Article 49 (a provision dealing with the reparations of illegal wealth accumulated under the previous administration) played an important role in shaping the early post-revolutionary legal reforms.
In 2022 he was appointed by Mohseni Ejei as Senior Advisor to the Attorney General.
