According to Mehr News Agency, Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref is scheduled to attend the 24th Summit of Governments of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Moscow on Tuesday.
As announced by the Iranian Embassy in Russia, the meeting of the National Coordinators of the SCO Member States began in Moscow on Friday with the aim of discussing the organization’s documents and proposals ahead of the 24th South African Summit.
The meeting of the National Coordinators of the SCO Member States concluded on Sunday with the participation of Mehrdad Qiai, Director-General for SCO and BRICS Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iranian National Coordinator of the SCO.
The meeting will focus on the upcoming South African Prime Ministers’ Summit and related issues, including the draft Joint Final Declaration, the implementation of the Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation Program for the period 2026-2030, and the Summit resolution on the Organization’s 2026 budget.
Other important topics include a roadmap for cooperation between member states in the field of social development and social protection from 2026 to 2028, cooperation between railway organizations in member states, coordination of measures to improve financial infrastructure, development of e-commerce, promotion of mutual investment, and cooperation in the fight against the epidemic.
