TEHRAN – Hebrew media reports the death of an Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) soldier and the wounding of five others.
In what was described as another “security incident” within the Gaza Strip, injured soldiers in critical condition were airlifted by IOF helicopters to Tel Hashomer Hospital and Soroka Hospital.
Previously, Hebrew outlets reported that sirens were set off twice in Gaza’s envelope settlement of Netib Hasala due to rocket fire from the Strip.
Omar al-Qasem’s forces, the armed wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, said it fired several mortars targeting a gathering of IOF military vehicles northeast of Khan Younis on the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian resistance forces continue to confront Israeli attacks through ambushes and direct confrontations inside Gaza and by targeting settlements around the Strip with rockets in a genocidal war backed by the United States that has massacred civilians for the second year in a row.
Meanwhile, IOF continues its assault on Gaza City in the northern part of the enclave, carrying out large-scale dismantling.
Reporters in the city said the IOF detonated an armored bulldozer packed with a large amount of explosives to destroy a house in the al-Maghribi area of Gaza City’s al-Sabra district.
Reports say IOF has carried out large-scale demolition at al-Shati camp near Gaza City. Experts warn that people in the region are facing yet another humanitarian crisis.
IOF launched heavy shelling in several areas of Gaza City, including Al-Sabra, Zeitoun, Tel Al-Hawa, and Tuffah, while conducting further airstrikes on houses in the Al-Nasr area of Gaza City.
Additionally, limited incursions were reported in several areas, including Sheikh Radwan district. IOF also targeted an apartment building on Al-Shuhada Street in the Al-Rimal neighborhood in the southwest of Gaza City, injuring several Palestinians.
As the genocide raged, IOF specifically targeted displaced populations attempting to move north toward Gaza City.
IOF artillery shelling and heavy gunfire were also reported in central and northern Yanis, central and northern Gaza.
About a dozen Palestinians were injured in an IOF fire near an aid distribution center in the northwestern city of Rafah, also in the south.
On Monday, Gaza’s government media office announced that the total number of Threas martyrs and missing persons since the start of the genocide on October 7, 2023 is over 76,600.
The office said the number of missing persons was 9,500, adding that the level of destruction caused by IOF attacks reached 90% across the besieged Palestinian territories.
