According to an Al Jazeera report on Monday, the Secretary of State for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) (OHCHR) has stopped describing it as a genocide that will unfold the Gaza War.
However, in his opening speech to the 60th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, the Turks expressed fear at what was called the “open use of genocide rhetoric” and the “disgraced dehumanization” of Palestinians by high-ranking Israeli officials.
“The mass murder of Israeli civilians in Gaza, the indescribable suffering and the violation of wholesale destruction. The aid of adequate life-saving and the hunger of civilians, the murder of journalists and the murder of war crimes are shocking the world’s conscience,” Turk said.
“Israel has lawsuits to answer before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), and the evidence continues to grow,” the Turks, referring to the ICJ’s ruling in January, saying Israel has a legal obligation to prevent genocide actions.
