TEHRAN – Iran launched a two-day Volkswagen beetle rally on Wednesday, as one of many programs to document tourism week from Tehran to Noveshar, according to the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts.
The event, called “Glorious Iran,” was held by Iran’s Tour & Automobile Club, in collaboration with the Iranian Historic Vehicle Association. We have collected 31 classic Volkswagen beetles carrying more than 100 participants, including family members, travel bloggers, tourism influencers and food content creators.
Each vehicle represents a different state, decorated with images of its name and cultural or historical symbols, showing Iran’s heritage and diversity, the statement said in its statement.
The rally route covered Tehran, Chars, Novishar and Noor, with cultural and recreational programs scheduled along the way. Organizers said the event was intended to highlight tourism potential in northern Iran and promote safe and responsible travel.
The rally was held in collaboration with local hotel groups as part of an activity marking tourism week, coinciding with World Tourism Day on September 27th.
