TEHRAN – Iran’s first vice president, Mohammad Reza Alev, said the government’s rapid response, strategic planning and leadership of leaders in the Islamic Revolution have enabled Ali Kamenei to effectively manage the 12-day conflict with Israel.
In an interview with Khamenei.ir, the AREF detailed the government’s handling of war, outlined emergency plans, warned of potential threats, and said Iran was on high alert despite a temporary suspension of hostilities.
The AREF said the regime was operating under “wartime assumptions” long before the conflict broke out, citing the assassination of foreign Iranian guests as the trigger. “By October, we had internally moved to a wartime framework while still settling on the masses,” he said.
Two economic scenarios have been drafted. One is based on daily oil exports of 500,000 barrels, and the other assumes that exports are zero.
After Israel’s first strike, the government convened an emergency session, delegating full powers to the governor under Article 127 of the Constitution, and energizing four Crisis Task Forces on the Economic, Infrastructure, Security and Public Message. Each was given enforcement to manage their own domains.
Despite Israeli artillery fire, the AREF said the country avoided supply shocks and panic purchases. “We didn’t utilize the strategic reserves. The system was retained,” he said.
Gasoline consumption rose sharply to nearly 200 million litres, up from an average daily average of 120 million people, but quickly stabilized. AREF believes in gentle public action, prompt logistics response, and the commitment of truck drivers and wholesalers. “In some cases, products were sold in solidarity with people at less than cost,” he pointed out.
According to the AREF, Israel’s military campaign failed to achieve its goal. It cripples Iran’s defensive orders, causes domestic unrest and forces Iran to the negotiation table.
“None of these were embodied,” AREF said. “The Iranian people stood firm. The message of the leadership shaped the confidence and solidarity of the people. What Israel encountered was a unified and resilient country.”
Note that AREF should not be mistaken for perpetuating peace. “People like Netanyahu or Trump are unreliable. The Lebanese experience has taught us that the maximum number of martyrs can come after a ceasefire,” he said.
All ministries are instructed to submit detailed wartime reports to assess gaps and strengthen national preparedness. “If the conflict resumes, our response will be faster and more powerful,” he said.
In response to President Donald Trump’s request for unconditional negotiations, Aleph said Iran rejected the concept of surrender.
“The word “suburbation” has no place in Iran’s political or defence doctrine. We are not invaders, but the war forced upon us will end. ”
He added that Iran’s foreign policy is based on dignity, wisdom and national interests, and that the state will not compromise its principles under pressure.
Aleph praised Ayatollah Khamenei’s decisive wartime leadership, particularly the swift appointment of a new commander following the battlefield martials. He also highlighted the unexpected appearance of the leader at Imam Khomeini Hosenieiye on the night of Asura as a turning point.
“His presence changed the atmosphere of the nation, sending a rebellious and gentle message. It was a moment that reminded us of the world and ourselves that Iran’s strength lies in faith, unity and leadership.”
