AREF held a meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the third conference of inland developing countries in Awaza, Turkmenistan on Tuesday.
Tackling the Israeli regime’s military attack on Iran, Aleph said, “We are committed to all international law and regulations. The United States has never concluded that Iran is seeking unsafe nuclear application. However, in recent wars, the United States has supported the Zionist regime in its invasion of Iran’s Islamic Republicans.”
He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently expressed an willingness to work with the United Nations to promote global peace, hoping that the United Nations will condemn Iran’s phobia that has spread to the West.
The AREF also expressed concern that such attacks against various countries could become a repeating problem and lead to regional instability. “If the UN had taken more appropriate measures, we wouldn’t witness the tragedy of Palestine and Gaza today,” he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Aleph said, “In Gaza, we are witnessing modern wild bars and savages. We hope that the UN will take more effective measures and increase its support to block the Zionist regime.”
Guterres emphasized that Israel and the US’s attacks on Iran violate international law, underscoring the importance of complying with international norms and maintaining a ceasefire.
He said, “The issues with Iran’s nuclear program must be resolved through diplomatic means, and we are ready to use all UN resources to help achieve diplomatic resolution.”
