Donald Trump’s Middle Eastern envoy Steve Witkov said the US president is trying to avoid an armed conflict with Iran by building trust with Tehran in a statement aired Friday.
In an interview with online news anchor Tucker Carlson published in X, Witkov reported that Trump’s recent letter to the Iranian government was not intended as a threat, the Daily Star reported.
On March 13, Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi confirmed the receipt of the letter written by the US President and was delivered by Anwar Gargash, the diplomatic adviser to the President of the United Arab Emirates.
In an interview with AFP, Witkov claimed, “Trump is accepting the opportunity to clean it all together with Iran. So they will return to the world and become a great nation again… he wants to build trust with them.”
This is when Ayatollah, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, seyed Ali Khamenei in a speech on Friday (March 21, 2025) to address people from all walks of the Imam Khomeini complex warns that US officials should avoid evil acts against the Iranian state or that they will see scary consequences.
The leader emphasized that if they fulfill a threat to Iran, the enemy will receive a fierce slap in the face.
Earlier on March 17, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said the Islamic Republic of Iran would respond to President Trump’s letters via appropriate channels after the letter review is completed.
Baghaei said Tehran has no intention of publishing the letter, and emphasizes that what is being made public in the media is primarily speculation.
However, he added that the context of the letter is not different from what the US President said publicly.
