Pezeshkian made his remarks in a telephone conversation with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, president of the United Arab Emirates.
The Iranian president expressed hope for a continued ceasefire that took effect after Iran launched a missile attack on a U.S. Air Force Base in Qatar on Monday night in response to the bombing of three Iranian nuclear sites in Washington a day ago. The US struck the site on the 11th day of the Zionist regime’s attack on Iran.
Pezeshkian said Iran was dissatisfied with being forced to respond to US invasions of Qatar’s territory.
He went on to add that the enemy was trying to sow division and hostility among Islamic countries, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has a deep belief in brotherhood and friendship with the regional countries and cannot escape efforts and cooperation for collective growth and progress.”
Pezeschkian also said that war was not a proper tool to achieve its goals, and there were no winners. Iran has entered into a military conflict to protect itself, he added, expressing his hope that Iran will never be forced to enter war again.
The president also warned that the Zionist regime and the United States must recognize that they cannot impose unfair and internationally illegal demands on Iran through their forces.
Iran is ready to resolve issues within an international framework, and through negotiations, Iran can defend itself in the face of Zionist attacks and wants nothing beyond its legitimate rights.
“In our interaction with the US, we hope to clearly communicate that the Islamic Republic of Iran is only pursuing legitimate rights and has no further demands. We have never sought nuclear weapons. Iran’s purpose is simply to build a better future through people, neighbors and cooperation.
“We consider our brothers to be our brothers, the people of the United Arab Emirates and other countries. We respect the integrity of the territorial kingdom of all nations,” he further emphasized that we can build areas that will flourish “without cooperation, stability, peace and foreign interference.”
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed praised Pezeschian’s logical and wise explanation of the major recent developments.
He said self-defense is a natural right in all countries, adding that Iran, the United Arab Emirates and other regions are neighbors.
The UAE president also said his country is standing with Iran during these difficult times and would not hesitate to support it.
