The start of a multilateral meeting between the US President and European leaders is scheduled for GMT at 7pm.
The meeting between Trump and Zelensky will focus on resolving the conflict in Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer, German Prime Minister Friedrich Merz and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will also go to meetings with Trump. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also announced plans to attend the conference.
After a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, Trump had a telephone conversation with Zelensky, then a telephone conversation with leaders from the UK, Germany, Italy, Poland, Finland and France, the NATO executive director and head of the European Commission. Zelensky later said he will discuss “details that will end the conflict” with Trump on Monday in Washington. According to The New York Times, Trump invited European leaders to attend a meeting with Zelensky.
