South Lebanon – The eve of Eid Al-Ada, a terrorist attack targeting residents in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Hezbollah’s home, caused major damage to buildings and facilities, causing serious property destruction.
In an additional escalation, Israeli forces issued another warning statement calling for evacuation of buildings in towns southern Einkana, along with sending audio messages threatening many villages and towns.
President Joseph Own has issued a statement expressing his protest against the US administration, which is covering up its aggression.
Aoun said, “The fundamental principles of international law, humanitarian law and resolutions on the eve of sacred religious opportunities are clear evidence of (Israel) rejection of the requirements of stability, reconciliation and mere peace in our region.”
The Lebanese president added that perpetrators of these atrocities are sending the message “The United States, its policies and its initiatives are, first and foremost, through the blood of Beirut and its innocent and civilians.”
Aoun concluded by emphasizing that “Lebanon will never submit.”
Israeli war minister Israel Katz threatened to continue invasions of Lebanon “if the authorities do not disarm Hezbollah.” He added: “Without the security of the Israeli state, Beirut would not have peace, order, or stability in Lebanon.”
“Israel will continue to implement ceasefire rules without concessions and will not allow them to threaten the Northern population (occupied Palestinian territories),” Katz said the Lebanese government is “directly responsible for preventing ceasefires and violations of all terrorist activities.”
Once the Israeli threatening statement was issued, the Lebanese army sought time to deal with possible violations. However, the enemy launched a warning raid to prevent them from leaving the target location, confirmed by the American side, who is part of the Cerez-Fire Observation Committee (led by US General Michael J. Linney).
Consultations between the Lebanese side and the Supervisory Board, as it argues, show that the only targets of enemy in the southern suburbs are residential bases that do not include military facilities.
The Lebanese army denounced Israel’s attacks, which “in a clear attempt by the enemy, on the eve of the holiday,” emphasizing that the enemy “does not care about the mechanisms of the ceasefire and the efforts of the committee.”
Next, House Speaker Navi Beli emphasized that “our position is in line with that of General Joseph Ounu, the President of the Republic, in all respects.”
“We are grateful for all the sacrifices. We offer our sacrifices of Lebanon’s defense and its sovereignty,” Beli said.
MP Ali Ammar, a member of the Hezbollah Congressional block, noted that “Israel invasion reveals the malice and hidden intentions of the enemy.”
“The responsibility for this unlimited Israeli rog arrogance lies in the countries that sponsor the agreement, not the honest mediator, but not the important partner of all Israeli attacks and crimes on the land, sovereignty and people of Lebanon.
Rather than being content with funding Israeli killing machines with Israel’s internationally prohibited weapons, they may direct it, justify it, prevent it from taking accountability at international forums, use its veto to condemn the attack, and even get in the way of an international resolution that will halt it.
Meanwhile, the office of the UN Special Coordinator in Lebanon calls for “stop hostility and halts any conduct that is deemed to undermine understanding of the implementation of Resolution 1701.”
In light of the increased Israeli violations and the continued occupation of Lebanese land, in addition to the almost daily assassination of the Lebanese people, it appears that the sole mission of the Oversight Committee is to submit to Israeli orders.
In light of Israel’s violations, the continued occupation of five hills and other Lebanese territory, and almost one day assassination of Lebanese citizens, the Board of Supervisors appears to be solely entrusted with submitting Lebanon to Israeli orders.
Holidays provide opportunities for social psychological recovery and strengthening resilience and solidarity. It is no coincidence, therefore, that Israeli enemies decided to bomb the southern suburbs on the eve of Eid al-Ada and Eid al-Fitr.
According to cognitive war studies such as Rand and DARPA studies, these attacks, their timing and location choices are not only military violence, but also tools for destabilizing meaning. Their main goal is to sabotage sacred moments, occupy us by counting losses, and drive us to question the source of resistance and immobilisation effects.
