TEHRAN – Iranian President Masudo Pezeskian has rejected Vice President of Congress, Shalam Davili, after confirming that Dabili had made a luxurious trip to Antarctica during his Novurs holiday.
On the formal order, Pezeschkian criticized the trip as inappropriate, despite reportedly being funded personally. He emphasized that when economic hardships still affect many Iranians, it is not possible to justify displays of luxury by such high-ranking officials.
“This government is proud to follow the example of Imam Ali (AS), and under current conditions, the luxurious personal leave, where economic pressure on people is severe and poverty is widespread, is not in line with the principles of modest living, except by who pays,” Pezeschkian writes.
Despite acknowledging Dabili’s long-standing service and friendship, the president said the administration must prioritize its commitment to transparency, justice and public trust.
“Therefore, he concluded that ‘we cannot continue cooperation in the 14th Government.’
The firing sends a strong message about the administration’s stance on accountability and public image in an era of national economic tensions.
