TEHRAN – German Prime Minister Friedrich Merz on Tuesday, May 27th, brought Israel’s most serious responsibilities to date, saying the massive atmosphere in Gaza has not been justified by the need to fight Hamas and the “no longer understood.”
“The massive military strikes by Israelis in the Gaza Strip are no longer revealing logic to me. How will they help their goals to stand up to fear?
Also, in a radio interview on Monday, May 26th, Meltz said: “Frankly, we don’t understand what the Israeli military is doing in Gaza right now or what its goal is.”
But the question is why Germany’s criticism has become so slow?
Unfortunately, Germany was on the wrong side of the history of the Gaza War. Mertz’s predecessor, Olaf Scholz, visited Israel on October 17, 2023, 10 days after the outbreak of the war caused by Hamas’ attacks on southern Israel.
Scholz’s visit to Israel encouraged the Netanyahu regime in an apocalyptic war with Gaza.
Even German philosopher Jurgen Habermas expressed his support for Israel’s horrifying conduct in Gaza in the early weeks of the war.
Germany is Israel’s second largest arms supplier. It comes after the US.
The voices still rising in Europe are from Israeli Foreign Minister Johan Wadefl on Israel, to which Mertz’s new foreign minister, Johan Wadefl, said he would continue to supply arms to Israel despite the violent Israeli attacks sparking international conflict, calling for a call from German government Johan Wadefl.
“As a country that understands Israel’s security and existence as a core principle, Germany is always obligated to help ensure Israel’s security,” Wadehull said at a joint press conference in Madrid with Spain’s Jose Manuel Alvarez on Monday, May 26th, according to the Defense Post.
“That naturally includes the willingness to supply weapons in the future,” Wadehull said, citing Germany’s unique responsibility for post-Holocaust Israel.
However, Germany, which has followed rather pacifist policies since the end of Nazi rules, must have used its influence to prevent another Holocaust by Israel.
Interestingly, during a visit to Israel on May 17th, Wadehulu questioned the success of Israel’s 19-month war in Gaza.
Germany seems to have come to a sense of it, but it’s too late. That criticism comes after the war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Although it is very slow, the new attitude from Germany is welcome. It may help to repair some of the reputation of Germany around the world.
It is encouraging that the Social Democrats, a partner in Mertz’s Junior Coalition, are demanding a halt to arms exports to Israel.
Whether or not Western countries, including Germany, have admitted it, they have somehow conspired with the war crimes that have been happening in Gaza since October 2023.
Without the unquestionable, unwavering support of the West, the extremists who ruled Israel would not have committed this surprising degree of crime against Gaza’s population.
There is no justification for dropping thousands of tons of bombs on 2.3 million people, dislocating repeatedly from place to place once, causing starvation and starvation, mime and orphan children, killing tens of thousands of other indescribable crimes, committing many other indescribable crimes to randomly kill fighters wrapped around their necks.
