Mohammad Esrami made a statement after meeting with members of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee on Monday, saying that one of AEOI’s main commitments under Iran’s Seventh Development Plan is to triple the power capacity generated by the nuclear power plant.
He said the project had already begun and pointed to progress in the development of the second and third stages of the Bucher nuclear power plant in southern Iran.
Eslami also pointed out that the main scheme to generate 20,000 megawatts of nuclear power is operating seriously and quickly.
In March 2024, Eslami said that annual power generation at the Bucher Nuclear Power Plant set a new record in Iran 1402 (2023).
Emphasizing the safe, successful, seamless performance of the Bucher nuclear power plant, he said the factory set a new record by generating 7.6 billion kilowatt-hour power in 1402.
