TEHRAN – Yemeni forces are targeting strategic Israeli military air bases with postponed missiles on territory in northern Israel.
Yemeni forces fired a Palestinian bipolar quality ballistic missile at Ramat David Air Base near Haifa, confirming that the missile surprised its target after Israeli intercepted systems did not stop it.
In a statement, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni Army, confirmed the use of Palestinian bipolar quality ballistic missiles in surgery, highlighting the failure of enemy intercept systems.
The missiles reportedly avoided the US interception system deployed by the US in the region to protect the Israeli regime from Yemen’s missile and drone strikes.
Sally emphasized that the operation was carried out in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians and their resistance fighters, highlighting Yemen’s solid opposition to the people of the Gaza Strip to the genocide carried out by the US-backed Israeli occupation regime.
He praised the ongoing heroic operations against the occupation regime, despite blockades, genocide and civilian suffering, and repeatedly supported Yemeni forces against the Palestinian resistance forces.
Surree further confirmed that Yemen’s military support front will continue until the genocide ends and the siege of Gaza is lifted.
This is the second time in a few weeks that Yemen has targeted Israeli military bases near the northern city of Haifa.
The Ramato David Airbase, run by the Israeli Air Force in southeast Haifa, is considered one of the administration’s most important and strategic military facilities.
It mainly serves as a base for senior fighter jets, with multiple squadrons of F-16 fighter jets, and includes facilities such as long runways and enhanced aircraft shelters.
Its strategic value lies in the central location of settlements in northern Israel, serving as a major launch point for aviation operations, particularly in scenarios involving Lebanon and Syria.
The base is equipped with an advanced defense system and is integrated with early warning and radar networks.
Israeli media reported that warning sirens have been activated around “250 towns, villages and industrial zones in northern Israel.” The Hebrew media also said sirens were heard in Haifa, Nazareth, Ahura and Wadiara regions after detection of missiles launched from Yemen.
The Yemeni military continues to operate in solidarity with Gaza. On Wednesday, they attacked using Jafa drones with Israeli forces in Tel Aviv and Ashkelon.
