Missiles from Yemen were intercepted, causing air sirens in several areas of central Israel, according to military statements.
Israel Channel 12 said missiles targeted Ben Gurion airport and urged authorities to temporarily suspend flight operations.
The broadcaster said thousands of Israelis fled to shelter after the missile attack.
Yemen later said the troops fired “ballistic missiles” at the airport.
Military spokesman Yahya Saree said three drones were also launched in the occupied areas.
Sunday’s attack marked the latest in a string of military operations against Yemeni Israel.
On Thursday, Yemeni forces targeted Ben Gurion airport, equipped with polar tone ballistic missiles, Surrey said at the time. He also said another missile had struck a “critical target” in the eastern part of Jaffa, central Israel.
A military spokesman for Houthi vowed that retaliation operations will continue and escalate unless Israel ends its war with the Gaza Strip.
