Yemeni military announced in a statement released Sunday that it would implement an air blockade of “Israel,” in its latest escalation to Zionist groups supporting Gaza, Anmeiden reported.
“In response to the escalation of Israeli invasion and the expansion of military operations in Gaza, Yemeni forces have declared a complete air force blockade in Israel,” Yehya Saree, spokesman and brigadier general for the YAF, said in a statement.
“The Yemeni military will enforce air blockades by repeatedly attacking Ben Gurion Airport, known as Israel’s LOD airport, as its main target,” he emphasized.
The statement called on all international airlines to take this threat seriously from the moment of publication and to cancel all flights to Israeli Airport to maintain the safety of their aircraft and passengers.
“Pride, liberal, independent Yemen will not accept the continued violations its enemy is trying to impose by targeting Arab states like Lebanon and Syria. This country (Yemen) is not afraid of conflict and refuses to submit and surrender,” the statement added.
This comes amid widespread cancellations of flights to “Israel” by major foreign airlines, following the Yemeni ballistic missile that landed just 200 metres from Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday.
