In a statement issued Sunday evening, Yemeni forces urged countries around the world to pressure the Israeli regime to stop aggression and lift the Gaza blockade and prevent further escalation.
They emphasized that their decision to intensify the attack on Israel stems from their moral and humanitarian obligations to deal with the suffering of the Palestinians.
The Yemeni military highlighted the rapid development of occupied Palestine, particularly in the Gaza Strip, which caused the deaths of thousands of Palestinians amidst the continued conflict, due to long-term sieges and military attacks.
They said they find themselves faced with deep religious, moral and humanitarian responsibility towards oppressed people who are submitting to the relentless killing and destruction of the air, land and sea artillery bombardment every day.
The serious lockdown has led to staff fast and proud Gaza hunger and thirst. This is not particularly acceptable to Arabs and Muslims, the statement read.
As a result, the Yemeni military said it had decided to escalate its military support operations and implement the fourth phase of a naval blockade against Israel. This stage involves targeting all ships belonging to all companies involved in Israeli ports, regardless of company nationality, where Yemeni military has access.
The Yemeni military issued warnings to all businesses to halt transactions with Israeli ports when it issued the statement. Failure to comply, vessels will be targeted anywhere within Yemen’s missiles and drones.
The military repeatedly called on countries to prevent this escalation, urging Israel to stop the aggression and pressure them to lift the blockade of the Gaza Strip. “There’s no free person on this planet who can accept what’s going on,” they said.
The actions of the Yemeni military reflect the moral and humanitarian commitment to confront the injustice facing Palestinians. They declared that all military operations would be suspended immediately after the halt of attacks on Gaza and the removal of the blockade, the statement said.
The Yemeni army condemned the permanent attack on Gaza, which stems from what they described as a shameful silence of the Arab, Islamic and international communities.
Since the conflict in Gaza began, Yemeni forces have launched numerous attacks on Israeli-bound vessels, targeting deeper locations within Palestinian territory, occupied with missiles and drones.
