According to the first report, Yemen’s one-way attack drone struck Israel’s Ramon airport, north of Eilat, on Sunday. Yemen has not issued a statement regarding the operation or details of it. According to the Hebrew media, there have been reports of multiple injuries following the strike.
Israeli forces confirmed the impact, admitting that sirens had not been heard before the strike, urging the closure of southern airspace and decoupling flights to Ben Gurion Airport.
The military also claimed it had intercepted three other drones launched from Yemen just before Yemen, highlighting the expanding front, which is increasingly highlighting Israel’s air defense.
Yemen’s Ansarla movement has targeted Israel in solidarity with Gaza since fall 2023, and has stepped up long-range drone and missile operations despite repeated retaliation.
Israel raided Yemen, bombed Hodeidaport, killed senior leaders and civilians, and Yemeni leaders vowed to revenge and continued support for Gaza. In May, Yemeni missiles near Ben Gurion Airport disrupt Israel’s air travel for several months.
