In a statement released on Sunday, Israeli forces said Yemeni forces had fired unmanned aerial vehicles towards Ramon Airport, near Eilat city.
The Army further alleged that its anti-aircraft missile system “intercepted” the drone, news outlets reported.
The Hebrew media said sirens were revitalized in the Be’er Ora community settlement near the airport.
The development takes place less than a week after Yemeni forces claim responsibility for a series of drone strikes against Ben Gurion International Airport, a sensitive facility in Tel Aviv, Ramon Airport and Dimona city in the Negev desert.
Yemeni Army spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced in a television statement on September 8 that the operation had achieved a desirable goal.
A day ago, a Yemeni unmanned aerial vehicle violated airspace in Israeli occupation, penetrated Israeli air forces and hit targets at Ramon Airport.
In response to the war on Gaza, which began in October 2023, Yemeni forces have urged the international community to tackle Gaza’s severe humanitarian crisis by implementing a strategic maritime blockade aimed at blocking the flow of military supply to Israel.
At the same time, they carried out several missile and drone strikes on key targets located on Israeli-occupied territory, demonstrating support for the Palestinians in Gaza.
The Yemeni army has clearly declared its position and intention to stick to the operation until Israel ceases from air attacks on Gaza.
The Israeli War in Gaza killed more than 64,800 Palestinians. Most of them are women and children.
