Tehran – Yemen will launch its second polar missile strike at an air force base in Israel in 24 hours.
For the second day in a row, Yemeni military targeted Israeli Nevatim Air Force Base in the Negev Desert with advanced polar ballistic missiles.
The Sunday morning attack came just hours after a similar strike on Saturday showed Yemen’s increased missile capabilities against Israeli air defense.
Yemeni Army spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree confirmed in a broadcast statement that the precision strike has achieved military targets.
“This operation proves its ability to freely penetrate enemy air defenses,” declared Sally, adding that such attacks will continue until the Israeli regime ends its siege and genocide campaign against Gaza.
Military analysts are focusing on the strategic significance of targeting Nevatim, Israel’s leading air force base used to house sophisticated combat squadrons and rent to the Gaza massacre.
The Yemeni military has adopted different missile types in Sunday’s attack, suggesting evolving weapons, compared to the Palestinian-2-extreme model used on Saturday’s strike.
Daniel Hagali, a spokesman for the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), confirmed on Sunday that it detected a “air threat from Yemen” and caused air raids in southern Israel and in the Dead Sea region.
The IOF claims they intercepted, but it does not provide evidence that it would halt the Hi-Sonic missiles.
Back-to-back strikes highlight the expansion of Yemen’s military scope despite US airstrikes against Yemen.
Under US President Donald Trump’s administration, American fighters have committed almost daily attacks across Yemen, resulting in key civilian casualties that have sparked criticism from human rights groups.
On Sunday, the SANAA government’s health ministry reported the first victim as the first after targeting private and residential areas in the capital and injured several others, including women and children.
Yemeni officials have vowed to continue their campaign against Israeli and the Alliance’s targets in both occupied Palestinian territory and regions. “Our operation in the Red Sea and our operations against Zionist targets will last until the attacks stop and humanitarian aid flows freely into Gaza,” Sally emphasized in his statement.
Experts warn that the US attack failed to stop Yemeni forces standing in solidarity with Gaza.
The latest missile launches show an unprecedented ability to project force deeply into Israel’s territory while also projecting its unprecedented ability to stand up to the US navy in strategic waterways.
