According to a report in Sabah News, Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohammed Nasser Al-Atifi and Chief of the General Staff Major General Mohamed Abdulkarim Al-Ghamari sent a congratulatory telegram to revolutionary leader Saeed Abdul Malik Badr al-Din Al-Houthi on Monday to commemorate the 62nd anniversary of the glorious October 14 Revolution.
It says:
On this momentous day when our proud Yemeni people celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the glorious October 14th Revolution – the revolution that overthrew the evil British colonial occupiers and raised the flag of freedom and independence, and with the signs of victory just around the corner, I am pleased to say these words to Your Excellency, on behalf of ourselves and on behalf of all the Mujahideen serving in our noble armed forces. I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on this wonderful anniversary. We ask Almighty God to grant you success, to guide your steps, to strengthen you in taking on this great religious and national responsibility at this important historical stage, and to crown with success your efforts to protect the sanctity of Yemen and the Ummah.
At this delicate juncture in the series of events and challenges that confront us, we recall the spirit of the October Revolution and the march of liberation movements from the forces of colonialism and oppression, which for more than a century in the bitter historical period have rested like a heavy weight in the breast of our beloved southern motherland. What we are witnessing today is a continuation of that conspiracy. Those colonial powers are still plotting and hatching diabolical plans against our homeland and nation. Their attempts to obliterate the Palestinian cause and invade proud Gaza after the Flood are just part of their criminal plan. However, by the will and power of God, and thanks to the indomitable spirit of the freedom resistance fighters, after two years in which the Zionist organization used every means of crime, murder and destruction, the Zionist organization and its main supporters, the great forces of evil, America and Great Britain, were forced to admit defeat before the voice of truth and the determination of the Mujahideen.
In view of these grave events facing our Ummah, we assure you that Yemen will remain faithful to its commitments under your wise leadership and that we will not abandon our Palestinian brethren. We will continue to support their fight for justice until the end. The enemy needs to understand that the people who have struggled for decades to oust the British occupiers can continue to march and root out the roots of modern conspiracies. We warn colonialist powers and their minions against any plots they may be hatching and any attempts to avert the opportunity for a just and inclusive peace. Our response will be painful and devastating – they will suffer destruction just as their predecessors did – because we are fully convinced that our enemies understand only the language of force and armed resistance.
In conclusion, we cannot but express our sincere gratitude and deep appreciation for your continued care for this institution and its staff, and for your wise leadership that illuminates the nation’s path. We promise you – the promise of faithful and believing soldiers – that we will continue to move forward on the path you have mapped out for us, holding our firm ground and carrying out all your wise directives, until we achieve the victory that God has promised to his believing servants, as set out in God’s wise writings, and until the enemy’s reality is annihilated.
