TEHRAN – Iran’s foreign ministry has firmly rejected allegations behind recent actions by Yemeni Resistance Ansarrah, calling it “basementless” and “inhumanity” against Yemeni people.
In a statement on Sunday, the ministry accused the US of attributing Yemen’s operations to support Palestine against the Islamic Republic, claiming that such accusations were an attempt to distract attention from what was called “genocide” made by Israel in Gaza.
“These are independent decisions made by people who are proud and resilient in solidarity with their Palestinian brothers and sisters,” the ministry emphasized that linking them to Iran is “a misleading tale aimed at covering up the failures and crimes of the Zionist regime.”
The statement condemned the existence and operations of US forces in Yemen, and accused Washington of violating international law by launching attacks on civilian infrastructure under the pretext of defending Israel.
Iran has repeatedly reiterated its longstanding position of respecting the sovereignty of its state and territorial integrity, continuing its invasion of Yemen and warned that support for Israel’s actions in Gaza threatens the stability of the Western Asia region and the Red Sea.
The ministry also warned against the recent threats posed by US and Israeli authorities to Iran, saying the Islamic Republic would not hesitate to protect its national interests and security. Tehran said both Washington and Tel Aviv are fully responsible for any consequences arising from their actions.
Since March 15, US President Donald Trump’s administration has launched daily airstrikes in Yemen, claiming it has hit more than 1,000 targets in Arab countries.
The campaign aims to halt Yemeni military strikes in Israel-related Red Sea transport lanes, as well as operations that are raiding targets deep within occupied Palestinian territory.
