TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut praised Yemen’s unwavering support for Palestinian cause, highlighting the important role Yemen plays in resisting Israeli invasion.
Araguchi’s remarks came during a meeting with Mohamed Abdulsalam, a spokesman and chief negotiator for Yemen’s Ansarla Resistance Movement, a bystander of the 8th Indian Ocean Conference in Muscat.
Aragut praised Yemen’s solidarity with the Palestinians, particularly in countering the ongoing genocide in Gaza, Israel.
He believed that the steady support from allies in Yemen and other regions would strengthen Palestinian resistance and ultimately pressure Israel to accept a ceasefire.
Iran’s foreign minister reaffirmed Tehran’s firm opposition to the expulsion of Palestinians and condemned recent remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Araguchi pointed out the proposal as a direct violation of international law and a continuation of Israel’s long-standing policy of expulsion.
Abdul Salam responded, reiterating Yemen’s full commitment to defending Palestinian rights, saying Yemen is wary of attempts to drive away Gaza’s population. He argued that Yemen’s future actions will be determined by Israel’s compliance with the ceasefire agreement, adding that the resistance would not tolerate further violations of Palestinian sovereignty.
Iran is urging a unified Muslim response to the Palestinian crisis
At another high level of diplomatic involvement, Aragut met with the Executive Director of Jasem Albudaiwi, the Council on Persian Gulf Cooperation (GCC).
He called on Muslim countries to adopt a unified and determined stance in defending Palestinian rights.
Araguchi welcomed the opposition, which has been expressed by several Arab countries, particularly the opposition in the Persian Gulf region, in response to the US Israeli proposal to force relocate Gaza residents. He described the relocation effort as part of a broader strategy to dismantle the Palestinian people, warning that attempts to implement such a plan would lead to regional instability.
The GCC Secretary-General reflected Iran’s position and reaffirmed the Council’s opposition to Israel’s evacuation policy. Albadiwi also welcomed Iran’s proposal for an emergency meeting of foreign ministers from the majority of Muslim countries and coordinated efforts to deal with the crisis.
According to the media, the Islamic Cooperative Organization (OIC) has received widespread support for the initiative and is expected to see a meeting in the coming days.
Iran and India reaffirm their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations
Araghchi, a bystander of the Muscat Conference, also held consultations with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. The two diplomats considered recent advances in Iran-India relations and discussed further economic and strategic cooperation.
Araguchi highlighted the success of the 19th round of Iran-India political talks held in New Delhi in January, highlighting the need to continue high-level discussions to promote mutual benefits.
He highlighted Iran’s policy of promoting regional cooperation in areas such as trade, energy and infrastructure development, particularly between states in the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean.
Jaishankar expressed optimism about deepening Iran-India relations and highlighted the importance of ongoing projects such as the Chabahar port development. Under the 10-year contract signed in May, India invested $120 million in port infrastructure, donated $250 million to expand its capacity, and made Chabahar important for regional trade. It will be placed as a hub.
Araguchi’s diplomatic schedule in Muscat included meetings with foreign ministers who highlighted Iran’s active involvement in regional and international affairs.

During discussions with Omani Foreign Minister Sei Badr Albusadi, Araguchi praised Omani’s role in promoting regional stability and expressed his gratitude for Muscat’s hospitality in hosting the Indian Ocean Conference. .
The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Iran-Iman relations, particularly in maritime economic partnerships and energy cooperation. Araguchi also praised the success of the 21st Iran-Merman Joint Economic Committee held in Muscat, highlighting the potential for increased trade and investment between the two countries.
Iran to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties with Nepal
At another meeting with Nepal’s Foreign Minister Alz Rana Deuba, Araguchi emphasized the importance of increasing diplomatic and economic ties between Iran and Nepal. He highlighted the friendly history between the two countries and reaffirmed Iran’s preparations to expand cooperation in the development of trade, energy and infrastructure.
The Nepal Minister thanked Iran for his support in evacuating Nepali citizens from the conflict zone of Gaza and welcomed further humanitarian cooperation. She also said the 60th anniversary of Iran-Nepal’s diplomatic relations provides opportunities for cultural, trade and tourism initiatives to deepen bilateral relations.
To conclude his diplomatic engagement, Aragut met Wolfgang Amadeus Brulehart, a special Swiss envoy for Switzerland and North Africa. The two officials exchanged opinions on regional development, highlighting the need for international action against Israeli policies that violate Palestinian sovereignty.
