TEHRAN – Mohammad Javad Zarif, vice president of strategy for Iran, reportedly held a heartfelt meeting with Pakistani ambassador in Tehran by Muhammad Mudasir Thu.
The two officials discussed expanding bonds in a variety of areas, including the economic, security and military spheres. The cultural exchange and the need to increase them was another focus of Saturday’s high-ranking debate.
“Pakistan is an important neighbour of Iran, which means we should do our best to further strengthen our bond,” Zarif told the envoy. An Iranian official who served as the country’s foreign minister for eight years in the 2010s, traveled multiple times to Pakistan during his long tenure as a diplomat.
On his part, Tip explained to Zarif about the current state of bilateral relations and repeated reciprocal sentiments about the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two historically friendly countries.
Iran and Pakistan have taken several steps in recent years to increase cooperation. In particular, a large border market was launched in 2023 by the leaders of both countries. Security collaboration has become extremely important, with two countries facing similar threats posed by terrorists and smugglers.
