Tehran – Mohammad Javad Zarif, who served as Iranian foreign minister from 2013 to 2021, emphasizes the importance of promoting Kish’s strengths in the field of halal and targeted tourism, highlighting the potential to attract Muslim travelers.
Speaking at a conference focused on strengthening the international status of Quiche in tourism, cultural diplomacy and regional dialogue, Zarif said, “The experience of countries like Turkey and the success of destinations such as Antarya can demonstrate that it is possible to create an attractive and respectful environment for Muslim tourists, despite certain cultural restrictions. Ensure a unique position in the regional tourism market.”
Looking back at the island’s progress, Zarif said, “What we saw in Quiche today marks the beginning of a journey that can shape another future for the island.”
He emphasized the importance of learning from past experiences with a strategic and analytical approach, saying, “If we are trying to build an epic future, we must review the past with strategic insights rather than regrets. Today I witnessed the signs of quiche’s intelligent future construction.”
Zarif also recalls his own experiences at the Davos Forum (World Economic Forum) in the 1990s and talks about the island’s ability to host major international events. “I have witnessed first-hand how events like this evolve into a global brand with long-term and consistent plans. Quiches can be high thanks to their geographical location, accommodation and management structure,” he said.
In this regard, Zarif announced his proposal to establish a “Muslim Regional Dialogue Assembly” and expressed his readiness to collaborate with the Kish Free Zone organization to hold the first session of the conference. He describes such gatherings as a platform designed to promote dialogue among scholars, intellectuals and officials from Islamic countries, and Quiche works as the launchpad of this constructive engagement.
Zarif highlighted Quiche’s track record of successful international gatherings, saying, “The island’s environment and facilities have impressed many foreign participants. The continuation of such events can solidify Islan’s role in regional diplomacy.”
In conclusion, a senior Iranian diplomat said, “Advertising is not just the responsibility of the government,” highlighting the key role of intellectual cultural promotion.
“In the past, there have been successful experiences that produced cultural clips that had a major impact on public opinion. Today, in the field of cultural promotion, there are groups in the field of cultural promotion that, if strategically used, could potentially project fresh images of Iran and Quiche into the world.”
Since the 1970s, Quiche has become a beach resort where visitors can swim, shop and sample local lifestyles. Hotels, apartment blocks and retail complexes dominate the once vacant desert landscape, with domestic tourist numbers increasing in the cold winters, especially on the mainland.
