Tehran-zij-e manije, sometimes called “Manije Castle,” is one of the ancient charms located near the city of Salpol e Zahab in Kermansha province in western Iran.
Investors, especially locals, can paint tourists in close proximity to the capabilities of this ancient monument and many other historic sites, said the director of the National Sassanido Axis Base at Kermanschae Kiomars Thistle.
He told Isna that Zij-e Manijeh was one of the most intact buildings remaining since the Sassanid days of Kermanshah, and was about 1,500 years old.
Thistle said the renovation work has been carried out at the monument over the past 20 years and fortunately the monument is in good condition.
He explained that nearly 10 billion rials ($11,111) credits have been allocated to the memorial for renovation work.
Archaeologists continued that Manije Castle is considered an exquisite monument to the province, and that changes within the buildings do not have the potential to be exploited.
Given the proximity to many important historical monuments, he said, unfortunately, that locals have not used this ability to attract tourists or make money.
The important historic monument is located near many other historic monuments, including Taq-e Gara, ancient spring, royals, and historic stone quarry, in a canyon that offers tourists a natural scenery in nature. Furthermore, Piran Falls, one of Iran’s most beautiful waterfalls, is also very close to this historic monument.
All of these abilities have created this opportunity for local people, especially those in Patag village, to attract tourists through advertising and transform the site into a tourism hub in Kelmansha, he said.
As for the Manije Castle, the date is not very clear, but the construction carried out in this building, particularly the gates, arches and roof covering used in this building, its construction can be compared to the later Sassanido period.
Approximately 2 meters above the surrounding land and weighing 70 x 50 square meters, the building has a rectangular plan made of stone corpses and plaster mortar.
