The International Resistance Film Festival delegation led by Dr. Mohammad Ali Shohaei Fad arrived in Baghdad today to meet with Iraqi cultural and artistic officials who aimed to enhance cultural and cinematic exchanges. This was the first international event of the Resistance Film Festival held in Iraq.
According to the International Resistance Film Festival’s Public Relations Bureau, the delegation led by Dr. Mohammad Ali Shohaei Fad, assistant secretary of the International Resistance Film Festival, has arrived in Baghdad with the goal of enhancing cultural and artistic interactions, particularly in film and media production. The visit is working with Iraq’s Basila Institute and is aimed at a joint organisation of cultural events.
On the first day of this visit, officials from the Resistance Film Festival met with the head of the Basila Institute to learn about the capabilities of this media organization while discussing and exchanging ideas for bilateral cooperation.
The agreement signed with the Basirah Institute includes the co-production of short films that address shared topics and issues (ISIS, the struggle with Aaaain, the battle with tyranny, the battle with Zionism, the history of religion, the history of religion), cooperation in holding resistance festival events in Iraq, and cooperation in co-production of film works (particularly providing training for Cinma in the southwest).
Israfil Kariji, executive director of the event and head of the International Committee Committee of the Resistance Film Festival, discussed the details of the delegation meeting and said there are numerous activities planned, including a meeting with Iraqi Deputy Minister of Culture, Mohand Arakabi, media from Hash Al Saabhi, media from Has Al Saabhi, visits from CINEMATINE MEDIA and CINEMATE, visits from Cinhemate, visits from visiting visitors, and more. Meeting with Dr. Muzadosady from the Halicia Shopping Centre and the Faculty of Art in Baghdad.
He added that the final event of this visit coincides with the first Basila film and theater festival and screenings of the film “North to North.” The film was first exhibited in Iraq and was nominated for 13 international and national awards, winning several of them.
The head of the International Committee of the Resistance Film Festival emphasized that the visit and hosting of the joint event reflects the efforts of the International Resistance Film Festival and the Basila Institute, strengthening cultural and artistic cooperation between Iran and Iraq and promoting the art of resistance in the region.
