TEHRAN – The intelligence wing of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) announced that it has identified and dismantled an anti-security organization led by Israeli and American spy agencies.
The network was dismantled after “several periods of surveillance” and other intelligence operations, the statement said.
“After losing the 12-day war, the Israeli regime, as the United States’ proxy in the region, has pursued policies and intrigues to disrupt security in the pious hope that it can make up for its ignominious military defeat,” the statement said.
The Israeli regime launched a blatant and unprovoked military invasion against Iran on June 13, 2025, sparking a 12-day war that left well over 1,000 people dead in the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. The United States also became involved in the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities in serious violation of international law.
In response, Iranian forces attacked strategic locations throughout the occupied territories and the largest US military base in West Asia, Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
The statement further said that several spy rings linked to the Israeli regime that were attempting to carry out anti-security acts were busted in the operation.
Iran takes seriously countering espionage and espionage as part of its national security measures.
In mid-June 2025, Iran executed a man convicted of cooperating with the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad and attempting to share classified information with the occupying Tel Aviv regime in exchange for money. The execution took place after the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence.
The individual, identified as Esmail Fekri, was in close contact with Mossad operatives and was captured in December 2023 during a complex intelligence operation carried out by Iranian security services.
Following Israel’s recent military invasion of the Islamic Republic, Iranian authorities have also arrested a number of people suspected of being spies for the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad.
Officials familiar with the matter told the Tehran Times that Iran is paying close attention to its national security and is taking the necessary measures to protect the country, including the necessary operations to identify, arrest and bring spies to justice.
