Iran’s Parliament vice-chairman Hamid Reza Haji Babaei said on Saturday that Iran’s decision stems from discovering sensitive facility data in documents obtained from the Israeli regime.
Speaking at a ceremony honoring Ayatollah Beshti and the martianism of the judicial authorities, he added:
He continued, “The United States fears a powerful country of 90 million people with a 7,000-year civilization that does not allow American rule in this region.”
Haji Babaei praised the strategic leadership of Iranian military and leaders of the Islamic Revolution, saying, “In the end, it was the people (Iranian) who set the final position. The more the enemy escalates, the more people react.”
Referring to the early part of the war, he said the enemy tried to destabilise the management by assassinating Iranian commanders.
“The enemy believes that Iran cannot rule and should be fragmented. They aim to promote ethnic tensions, and they mistakenly assume that 70% of Iran’s population is adjacent to them,” he concluded.
The Zionist regime fought a war of attack on Iran on June 13, attacking Iranian troops, nuclear and residential areas for 12 days, but the US carried out a military attack on three nuclear facilities in Iran, Natanz, Fordou and Isfahan on June 22.
Iranian troops carried out a powerful counterattack shortly after the attack. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Aerospace Force implemented 22 waves of retaliation missiles against the Zionist regime as part of Operation True Promise III, which caused significant losses to cities throughout the occupying territories.
The battle was suspended due to a ceasefire that came into effect on June 24th.
