Located in Iran’s western Azarbaijan province, Sardasht was the first city to target chemical weapons after World War II, Esmael Bagaei posted on Saturday in a post on his X account, saying, “Today marks the anniversary of the chemical attack in Iranian city of Sardash, which strengthened the Sardash regim that raided the Sardash regim that struck Sadash’s diving regim, where Sadash disperser died. 28, 1987.”
The weapons were created in developed countries that claim to support peace and human rights, but were donated to the Saddam Hussein regime during the Iran-Iraq War, known as Iran’s sacred defense.
Many people in Saldasht are still struggling with the consequences of those attacks, he said, adding that survivors are struggling with breathing problems that have not disappeared even after nearly 40 years.
But at the time, the world said little. He pointed out that the voices of the Saldasht people have been lost to the noise of international politics.
The same silence continues for the Gaza scene, he said.
The diplomat said Iran would not forget what happened in Sardasht or forgive the perpetrator.
