Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General, said the threat of the conflict being out of control is growing, potentially with devastating consequences for civilians, regions and the world. He stressed that there is no military solution and argued that the only viable path is through diplomacy, and that peace is the ultimate goal.
Saudi Arabia
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the US violation of Iran’s sovereignty and called on the international community to step up efforts to bring about a political solution that guarantees an end to the ongoing crisis. The ministry also called for restraints to prevent further escalation.
Oman
The Arab state, which mediated nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington prior to the start of Israel’s war of aggression against Iran, condemned the US attack on Iran’s nuclear sites, calling it a dangerous violation of international law and the UN Charter. Oman also emphasized the legitimate rights of all countries to develop nuclear programs for peaceful purposes.
Iraq
Iraq also condemned US attacks and described them as threats to Western Asia’s security and peace. Iraqi government spokesman Bassem Al-Awadi warned that the escalation of tensions was a dangerous threat to peace, stability and security in the region, calling for calm negotiations. Al-Wadi also said Iraq would oppose the use of force in international relations, urging respect for state sovereignty and avoid attacks on important facilities.
Qatar
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry has expressed regret over the US attack on Iran and warned of escalating tensions and potential disastrous consequences at regional and international levels. Doha also highlighted the need to halt all military operations and a return to diplomatic efforts.
Pakistan
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry condemned the US attack and expressed deep concern about the possibility of stimulating tensions in the region. The ministry said the attacks violate all norms of international law and that the Islamic Republic of Iran reserves legitimate self-defense rights under the UN Charter.
Pakistan’s Grand Mukhtai Muhammad Taki Usmani also responded, saying that the US attack on Iran is highly condemning.
Lebanon
President Joseph Own warned of the consequences of the US attack on Iran’s nuclear sites, saying the attack escalates ongoing tensions and threatens the security and stability of other countries in the region. He called for self-control and constructive negotiations to avoid further genocide and destruction.
Yemen
Sanaa’s Yemeni government has condemned the US airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear site, saying the attack is a clear declaration of war against the Iranian people. He also said the Yemeni army is ready to target American ships and warships in the Red Sea.
Yemen’s Ansarlah Politiclo has resolutely condemned US airstrikes and linked them to Washington’s unrestricted support for the Israeli regime in atrocities against the Islamic Umma.
According to an Ansarrah statement, strikes against Iran are a clear violation of international law and principles, and will heighten tensions at both regional and international levels. Hizam al-Assad, a member of the Politburo of Ansarlah, warned that the United States must be prepared to face the consequences of its actions.
Egypt
Cairo’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement, expressing concern about Iran’s latest development. The ministry warned that a rapid escalation of tensions would have serious impacts on security and peace at both regional and international levels. Cairo emphasized the need to pursue a political solution, noting that negotiations are the only way out of the crisis.
Kuwait
The Foreign Ministry has expressed concern over the US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, saying that the Kuwait government is eager to closely monitor the development of the region. The ministry also emphasized the need for dialogue, calling for tensions and a complete halt of military operations.
Palestinian Resistance Group
The Palestinian resistance also issued separate statements denounced the US attacks and expressed solidarity with Iran.
Hamas strongly condemned the US’s blatant attack on Iran’s territory and sovereignty, and expressed the assurance that the Islamic Republic could defend its sovereignty.
The Islamic jihadist movement has criticized the US for its strike and labelled it as a clear declaration of war against the Iranian state. The movement said in a statement that the US administration is a major enemy of regional states because of its policies governing other countries.
The Palestinian Mujahideen movement condemned US airstrikes and described both the Israeli regime and the United States as essential sources of the world that threaten peace and stability.
Bolivia
President Louis Alberto Arce Catacola accused the US strike of dangerous and offensive in a post on his X account. He said the strike not only threatens peace in the West Asia region and the world, but also violates international law and the UN Charter.
Russia
The Russian Foreign Ministry also issued a statement, denounced the US attack on Iran’s nuclear sites.
Describing the attack as “irresponsible,” the statement said it opposed international regulations, the UN Charter and resolutions of the UN Security Council.
Most worrying is that the attack was carried out by permanent members of the UN Security Council, the ministry added.
