A coalition of prominent Iranian professors, scholars and experts has issued an official statement supporting the Islamic Republic’s diplomatic efforts in nuclear negotiations and advocating for peaceful involvement between the United States and the West.
Signed by a diverse group of scholars and experts, the letter affirmed Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear enrichment under the Nuclear Weapon Non-Proliferation (NPT) treaty, highlighting the state’s commitment to scientific and economic cooperation.
Below is the full letter.
We are a group of Iranian professors, scholars and experts, experts in diverse academic and specialists, and we would like to express our full support for the official stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
As educators, researchers and contributors to our country’s intellectual and technological advances, we firmly support the principle that access to peaceful nuclear technology is an intransitable right for all countries under the framework of the Treaty on the Shortages of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), a long-standing signature by which Iran is a long-standing right. Iran’s nuclear programme confirms that it is dedicated solely to peaceful purposes, such as scientific research, medical development, and sustainable energy production.
It also considers diplomatic engagement and mutual economic cooperation between Iran and the international community, particularly the West, to be essential for regional stability, global peace and shared prosperity. Constructive dialogue based on mutual respect, equality of sovereignty and compliance with international law will promote an environment of trust that benefits all aspects.
We praise our country’s negotiators for their principled and professional approaches under challenging circumstances, and urge all involved parties to seize future-looking, mutually beneficial resolution opportunities. As members of Iran’s academic and professional elite, we have hopes for a non-authorized future defined by peace, dignity and international partnerships.
