TEHRAN – Iranian military chief of staff, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, conducted famous inspections of naval forces in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, declaring that “the troops are ready to respond decisively to any threat.”
Along with senior military leaders, including Army commander Seyed Abdolrahim Musavi and Navy commander Sharram Irani, Bagheri highlighted Iran’s operational preparations to protect territorial waters and national interests from escalating regional tensions.
Iran’s highest general general said the visit was important to assess the “sovereignty protection plan” of the Persian Gulf, a region of crucial importance to global energy security.
Located on the coast of the Persian Gulf with its main maritime routes, Hormozgan province has emerged as a key hub for Iran’s defensive strategies.
In his remarks, Bagheri also highlighted the coordination between the Army’s Navy (Artesh) and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC), and their role in “comprehensive deterrence.”
His remarks lead to the US and Israeli regime escalating military and diplomatic threats to Iran. This includes civilian nuclear programmes, unilateral sanctions and calls to dismantle warnings of military strikes.
